Installation:

  1. Remove right snap ring, right wheel hub and key from the axle shaft.
  2. Remove brake hub, brake hub key and spacer from axle shaft.
  3. Remove any plastic retainers (used for shipping purposes) from axle shaft.
  4. Thoroughly clean, then lightly grease the inside bore of the carrier.
  5. We prefer you dust seals in your carrier, make sure they are 52mm I.D. seals and lightly grease the inside lips.
  6. Apply a small bead of silicone-based sealant to each face of the sprocket hub spacer.
  7. Slide axle in through left side of carrier until sprocket hub spacer is up against the bearing.
  8. Install brake rotor on brake hub. Leave the brake rotor fasteners loose for now.
  9. Apply a small bead of silicone-based sealant to each face of the brake hub spacer.
  10. Install brake hub spacer, brake hub key and brake hub.
  11. Make sure brake hub spacer is up against the carrier bearing while tightening pinch bolts of brake hub
  12. Install wheel hub key, wheel hub and snap ring.
  13. Torque all (9) pinch bolts in the (4) hubs to 40 foot pounds.
  14. Tighten brake rotor fasteners.
  15. Install sprocket on sprocket hub. The sprocket locates on the carrier side of the sprocket hub. Carefully "weave" the sprocket over the spokes of the sprocket hub to work it to the other side of the sprocket hub.

Maintenance:

  1. Very little... check the pinch bolts periodically to insure they are torqued to 40 foot pounds.

Removal:

  1. Remove right snap ring, right wheel hub and key from axle shaft.
  2. Loosen brake rotor fasteners.
  3. Remove brake hub, brake hub key and spacer from axle shaft.  If brake hub does not slide easily from axle shaft, remove both pinch bolts from brake hub.  Place a blade screwdriver in the slot of the brake hub to be in line with one of the pinch bolt holes.  Screw one of the pinch bolts in from the opposite direction until it is pushing on the blade of the screwdriver.  This will easily “spread” the brake hub bore open so it can be removed from the shaft.
  4. Sand any high spots from the axle shaft that may cause shaft to hang up when pulling shaft through the carrier.  Thoroughly clean axle shaft and lightly grease.
  5. Shaft can now be easily pulled out from the left side of the carrier.
